A few days ago was shown LittleBigPlanet boxart and was announced as official, but Media Molecule itself through the FAQ PlayStation Blog, said:
Glad you Noticed, but do not get too attached to That piece of art – It’s something we put together from the artwork created for an exclusive EDGE Magazine cover article. And while we love it, ITS definitely NOT final box art.

Sony's confirmed it will release LittleBigPlanet 2 this November.
The Media Molecule title�s release date was mentioned in an SCEA list of first-party titles that support Move.

During a stage show video and interview regarding Media Molecule's highly anticipated title, LittleBigPlanet 2, both Pete Smith and Lee Cubin from SCEE have revealed plans for an impending Beta.
Responding to a community question as to whether either an 'Open' or 'Closed' Beta was planned, and if the levels created within it would be carried across to the final game, Pete Smith comments "We will have a Beta, we're starting the Beta process fairly soon and invites will be going out."
He continues "The great thing is that because we have an existing community we can pick some people who will be absolutely right, especially for the Create features we're trying to Beta test, and invites will be going out for that."
He goes on to comment that they are always testing new additions for the title in terms of content, and states that the team may not need to import across the Beta levels as the 2.5 million levels that were created in LittleBigPlanet will be available to be played within the sequel.
