Fallout 76 team will have a roadmap 'very soon,' will include content 'for the entire year'

Fallout 76 just launched their biggest free expansion yet in Wastelanders, but according to a recent AMA, they're not done yet.

According to project lead Jeff Gardiner and lead quest designer Eric "Ferret" Baudoin, a roadmap is coming soon for this post-Wastelanders world, and "will include content for the entire year." More Brotherhood story involvement is teased, companion dress-up is coming in May, legendary perks are coming "in the summer," camps are getting an upgrade on a nebulous timeline, text chat could come to PC (no promises), the entire game's weapon system is getting re-balanced, new events are coming and there will be a "looking for group" mechanic to help connect people for events dungeons and raids. In other words, there's some quality of life and content stuff in there, but no other major expansion has been announced.

Other informational tidbits include the fact that 54% of players sided with the settlers and 46% sided with the raiders (the new Wastelanders factions), with Crater serving as the "most liked" settlement and Commander Daguerre was the most popular ally,. If you're interested in testing out future content, the Private Test Server (PTS) is already open.

Indubitably, the cancellation of E3 has thrown Bethesda for a loop. The Bethesda showcase, quality aside, is a huge part of the "pre-E3" celebration, and they were likely going to unveil their future Fallout 76 plans there. Now they'll either have to do it via a streaming showcase like several others have opted for (just not with the same bravado as E3), or the old fashioned way: a pull up your sleeves PR campaign.

As you play through Fallout 76, you’ll also be able to take advantage of all of the new features introduced in our One Wasteland Update, including enemy level rebalancing, which will let you play with anyone, anywhere in the wasteland. There’s also a brand-new Daily Ops system, which rewards you just for playing and completing challenges. Learn more about everything the One Wasteland Update has to offer here.
And, if you decide to get Fallout 76 when the Free Play Week is over, not only will all your progress carry over, but the game and all available content bundles will be on sale! Note that Xbox players will need Xbox Gold to play during the free trial. We’ll go into detail on all the sales below.

    IN-GAME EVENTS
It wouldn’t be a true celebration without in-game events, and there will be three in-game events running from October 22 - 26. Get Double S.C.O.R.E. and Double XP, and get 25% off Legendary weapons and armor from Purveyor Murmrgh at the Rusty Pick.

    LIMITED FALLOUT 1ST PREVIEW
Finally, get a sample of a Fallout 1st membership with the free Fallout 1st Preview. In order to claim it, all you have to do is log in between October 20 and October 26, find the free Fallout 1st Limited Preview “item” in the Atomic Shop, and you’ll have access to some of the features offered with the membership.
This trial will allow you to use the Scrapbox (which will need to be claimed separately through the Fallout 1st section of the Atomic Shop in order to build it in your C.A.M.P.) and Survival Tent. Just like for full Fallout 1st members, the Scrapbox will give you unlimited storage for your crafting components, and the Survival Tent operates as a placeable fast travel point with a Stash, Sleeping Bag, Scrapbox, Instrument and Cooking Station. (The Survival Tent will be located in your Favorites wheel after you activate your preview.)

You will have access to both of these features until the preview ends on October 26. Once the preview ends, anything in your Scrapbox will persist (you won’t lose any of those precious crafting materials!), but you won’t be able to add anything new.

If you pick up the Fallout 1st Limited Preview from the Atomic Shop, you’ll also get a couple of other goodies that Fallout 1st members have access to. This month’s free in-game items are the Mechanic’s Wallpaper and Mechanic’s Floor and Foundation. Like any scrap you place in the Scrapbox, these items will remain yours after the preview ends.

April Fallout 76 Update Will Finally Let Players Have Multiple Camps
Camp building is at the center of Fallout 76 and the game’s April 27 update will finally let players create, store, and manage multiple campsites, a massive boon to the game’s more industrious architects.

Called “Locked and Loaded,” the April update, which also includes a new loadout manager to quickly swap between character builds, will help reduce some of the major sources of friction that still exist in the over two year old online game. Currently, players can only build one campsite at a time. If they want to build a new one somewhere else, or completely change the look, design, and theme, they need to scrap it and start over from scratch.

Making Appalachia Your Own with Fallout Worlds:
With Fallout Worlds, your imagination is the limit when under the sky of your own personal Appalachia. Utilizing a wide list of customizable settings, players can construct C.A.M.P.s in previously restricted areas or even remove the need for electricity to establish a builder’s paradise. Love Fallout 76’s survival mechanics? You can double down on braving Appalachia’s untamed wilds by changing the PVP rules and difficulty settings. And those are but two examples of what’s possible in Fallout Worlds.

Combine unlimited combat AP and infinite ammo to become a mighty wasteland warrior, configure creature spawns for serious big game hunting, control weather effects such as fog, nuclear radiation, or even Quantum Storms, turn on absurd jumping heights (just remember to turn off fall damage), enable ragdoll physics, change the height limit on settlements...all this and more are yours to play and experiment with as you see fit.

And yes, this list of customization options will continue to expand!
Fallout Worlds brings your own custom Appalachia in Fallout 76.
