Pe sistemul "Google TV a murit! Traiasca Google TV", Sony vine cu un concurent direct pentru Google Chromecast. Acesta se numeste Sony Bravia Smart Stick si promite sa transforme orice TV normal intrun Smart TV, iar un Smart TV sa primeasca un upgrade semnificativ. Astfel, odata conectat la un TV, acesta adauga functii precum voice control, integrare cablu/satelit (cu picture in picture), browser web si streaming de pe Netflix, Hulu Plus, Pandora, Amazon Prime Instant Video, YouTube, etc...
Acesta va veni in pachet (asa cum era si in vechiul Sony NSZ-GS7 Internet Player with Google TV) cu o telecomanda cu touch. Din pacate nu avem o data de lansare, un pret si nici macar nu stim daca vor merge doar pe TV-urile Sony (i hope not). Either way, se pare ca din ce in ce mai multi adopta ideea de "OS on a stick", acum ca hardware-ul poate fi miniaturizat suficient.
