Deep Silver have announced a re-release of Deadlight coming to Xbox One, PC, and PlayStation 4 this summer. Called Deadlight: Director’s Cut, it promises full 1080p resolution, plus new animations and improved controls. It will also add a new game mode called Survival Arena, which they say will be “one of the toughest zombie challenges yet”. The game, which originally debuted on Xbox 360 and Steam in 2012, is a sidescrolling survival platformer set in 1986 Seattle in the middle of a zombie apocalypse. While its dark, graphic novel inspired look was highly praised at the time of its release, it also suffered from bugs and sometimes repetitious gameplay. This will be the game’s first appearance on Sony consoles, as it was not originally on the PlayStation 3. It is not yet known what improvements will be made on the control scheme. The game will come out on June 21, 2016 and will be priced at $19.99. An announcement trailer can be seen above.
