Avoiding the Puddle Episode #9 + Short Harada Interview
ahahahah! This past weekend was quite eventful with WCG Finals 2010 happening right here in Los Angeles; players from all over the world came for the final event. Aris and MYK were fortunate enough to be able to get some games in, footage, etc. In this episode Aris and MYK briefly go over MYKs new sponsor over at BLGaming.com, the WCG weekend, an elaborate discussion on how the tier list works in Tekken, and more!

Pe un site scria ceva de genu :Tip: When you reach the area with breaking ceilings.. simply keep using "bound" and it wil be a fast fall til mokujin free kills too so you dont have to bother if you are finding it too hard.. also note lots of aliens can be found in this level.
- Gigabyte Hammer: 1+2
- Trance Hammer: b+2,1
- Lost Access: f+3,2,1
- Inbound Kick: (u_u/f)+4,4
- Dynamic Range: b+3+4,3+4
- Spindle Slash: u/f+1+2
MLG D.C. Tekken Event Preview | Major League Gaming
We are approaching the home stretch of the 2010 MLG Season, and the field of top pros is so stacked that it could become anyones Championship come Dallas. The top players know that a win in D.C. could be just the padding they need to secure the Championship, so they will all be eager for a strong finish this weekend. Lets take a look at the winners from the three previous Live Events.
MLG Orlando Champion: Kor (Bob, Lars), Houston, TX
In Orlando, pretty much everyone expected the Korean players to dominate. For the most part, this did turn out to be the case. There were a few who stood up to the challenge, most notably Kor. He was able to rally back from the Losers Bracket to beat Holeman in the Finals. A strong argument could be made that, at that time, he was the best Tekken player in the US. Although he has not been able to take the top spot since then, he has played at a high enough level to earn a #2 ranking going into D.C., which is no small feat considering the competition.
He is the more outgoing of the two Texas big names and, when prodded, he does not shy away from proclaiming that he thinks that Texas is the best region in the US. With MLG Dallas on the horizon, it would benefit him to find the magic and gain some momentum heading into D.C.
MLG Columbus Champion: Holeman (Lars), South Korea
The Korean contingent was even stronger in Columbus. The MLG Orlando Runner-up, Holeman, was accompanied by Koreas best, Nin and Knee. It looked like they would cruise to an easy 1-2-3 placing, but once again an American player, FightingGM, stepped up to the challenge and took 2nd Place. Holeman will not be in attendance in D.C., but Knee and Nin will. There are a few things to note about the Korean players:
-
- In each MLG Event that the Koreans have entered, at least one of them has placed in the Top 2
- Knee is coming off one of his most hard-fought tournament victories. He had to come out of the Losers Bracket of a world tournament to beat an extremely strong opponent from Japan.
- None of the Koreans attending MLG DC have lost to an American twice at an MLG Event.
The bottom line is that the question is never Will the Koreans win? Its always Who can rise to the challenge and defeat the Koreans?
MLG Raleigh Champion: JustFrameJames (Law), Southern California
Throughout the MLG Season, Southern California has quietly been holding its own. In Raleigh, SoCal put everyone on notice. JustFrameJames went undefeated, and although the field did not include any Korean players, it did include the Atlanta crewwho are just as vocal as they are competitive. Not only did James have to beat top-tier American competition; he also had to overcome top-tier trash talk.
James is currently ranked 5th, and his dominance among the American players shows that he has a good chance to make a run at the Championship. What remains to be seen, however, is whether he has improved enough as a player to match up to the Koreans when the big money is on the line. His unflappable demeanor will definitely work in his favor when the competition gets heavy on the big stage.
Will MLG D.C. see a repeat winner? As we take the final steps toward the MLG Championships, the big prize payout will bring out the serious competitive edge in the top players. The contenders will be separated from the pretenders, but can one of these past winners show their championship form? Or will another one of the notable names such as Suiken or GM get over the hump and earn those ever-so-precious 1st Place points? Get an HD pass for the weekend and watch the action unfold live!

MLG D.C. Day 1 Tekken Recap
PozePeople who have been following MLG for a while may think that Day 1 is really just about fun and hype. The doors open, we have the pre-game specials, and Faruq gives his pre-tournament speech. Lock it up! everyone proclaims in unison: some confident, some unsure, but all hopeful that they can perform well when the action starts. There is no pressure of elimination on Day 1, but that does not mean that an astute observer would not be able to pick up on subtleties that can have Championship implications come Day 2. Below are our observations thus far.
Competitions Getting Bigger
As we approach the home stretch of the 2010 season, more and more players want to get in on the action. Both New York and Atlanta brought crews of 20-plus people. While talking to ATL Batman about coming to his second MLG Live Event, he told us, Man, Ive been thinking about MLG every day since the last [Event in Raleigh].
Top Players Hungry
Everyone knows that this is the last Event before the Championship in Dallas, and many of the top players who are here realize that a strong finish in this tournament can provide the precious points they need to either separate themselves from the pack or ensure that they are indeed in the running for the top prize.
Kor (2) was seen warming up early on the Main Stage. He stayed up there for approximately an hour, getting practice games in with many of the other top players in the field. His focus at this Event is unquestioned, and he cruised easily through his Day 1 matches.
Contenders Tested
Day 1 did not stint on major tests for some players. Suiken (5) fought back from the brink of elimination late in Round 3 to defeat GMMA Blazing Peanut in a Lei mirror match. Bronson Tran (18), although he also looked very strong early on, was also tested in Round 3. He was matched up against Anakin, possibly one of the toughest opponents he will face all weekend. Although Anakin is a new name for the MLG audience, he is very well known in the Tekken community, and is regarded as the best player in Atlanta. Pokchop (11), the highly competitive and trash-talking ATL Bruce player, admitted, Hes the best in Georgia. None of us can beat him. Bronson, using Julia, fell to Anakins Jack-6 3-1 on the Main Stage. Even though he took a loss on Day 1, look for Bronson to be in the final running tomorrow.
A Champion will be crowned tomorrow evening. Can Kor complete his repeat of Orlando, defeat the Koreans, and take 1st Place here, putting him in the perfect spot to win in his home state? Will Anakin win it all and turn the current ranks upside down? Tune in tomorrow morning at 10 to find out!
Good stuff, good stuff!
