DCUO Sells Out, SOE Sending More Units to Retail | PlayStation LifeStyle

While many MMOs fail to make a serious impression on the gaming industry, DC Universe Online has a serious chance at capturing not only MMO fans, but also comic book and console fans. Even though the game has been out for less than a week, DCUO is selling better than hot cakes, with publisher SOE apologising for the limited stock and promising to send more to retail as soon as possible.

John Smedley, President of Sony Online Entertainment explained on his twitter that the game was sold out in most stores:

More units of DCUO are otw [on the way] to retail. The game is sold out in a lot of stores. Sorry. More coming asap

A later tweet shows that not only are the people buying the game in droves, but that they are also continuing to play the game, with servers at maximum capacity – despite the publisher already having added new servers:

We are hitting very high usage on our servers and are working on adding capacity. Sorry for any short downtime while we are doing that.

With Sony Online Entertainment having predicted big things for the apparently $50 million blockbuster game, sales must have been truly incredible to beat their expectations.

Ii foarte probabil ca jocul asta sa fie restrictionat pe zone daca nu va ajuns inca propun sa facem in asa fel incat sa putem juca impreuna, eu il iau de la webpredator este zona 1 dar cred ca pot cere si zona 2 daca majoritatea asta are.

baieti astept pareri sa vad daca merita sau nu si daca merita atunci la vara stiu ce o sa ma joc cel mai mult (in perioada asta nici vorba sa ma pot juca). When your game sells so well that you are unable to keep up with demand, you know you have a winner. Sony Online Entertainment have created such a game – DC Universe Online. Despite already adding two new servers, and even being sold out for some time, SOE is preparing and adding new servers as fast as they can.

John Smedley, President of Sony Online Entertainment, announced on his Twitter that they have added four new servers, with more on the way:

We just added 4 new servers. 2 US and 2 EU… And we are preparing for more! Sorry about the queues.

While it remains to be seen how many people stay on after their first free month expires, DCUO is off to a fantastic start, something that even successful MMOs often have trouble with achieving. It’s also important to note that DCUO is performing well in both the US and the EU as SOE are adding servers in both regions.

eh 7,5 e nota destul de buna avnad in vedere ca e primul MMO lansat pe ps3(din cate stiu) si de aceea nu aveau de la ce alte jocuri sa invete si sa imbunatateasca versiunea lor de joc. Oricum avand in vedere ca e vorba de un MMO era si normal sa aibe multe bug-uri si probleme la server, pt ca sunt la inceput. Vreau sa vad cum o sa evolueze jocul intr-un an si cat de bine o sa se vanda.

Acuma m-am uitat pe vgchartz si in prima saptamana de lansare jocul versiunea de ps3 a vandut 150,764 de exemplare (aproape de 3 ori mai multe decat versiunea de PC). Eu zic ca e un numar destul de frumos avand in vedere ca e un: MMO, are taxa lunara, e un IP nou si multi alti factori.

DCUO SOE's "Fastest Selling Game Ever" | PlayStation LifeStyle

Creators of the EverQuest series, Sony Online Entertainment are known for developing quality MMOs that are not only critical successes, but also commercial ones. But the success of SOE’s previous titles seems to pale in comparison to DC Universe Online, which is now their “fastest selling game ever”.
John Smedley, President of Sony Online Entertainment, announced on his twitter that even though the game had stock shortages it was smashing all their previous records:

Working on out-of-stock problems for DCUO. It’s ou[r] fastest selling game ever. Should have more inventory in Monday.

Not only are retail copies of the game selling in high quantities, but DCUO is also selling very well digitally, with Smedley saying:

We were #1 in sales on Steam last week!

DC Universe Online players will be happy to know that a major update dropped for all users. Included is a disturbing number of 'should's:
A complete list of changes:
General:

• Improved Client performance and stability.
• Addressed an issue that caused some PS3 players to hang or disconnect in the tutorial.
• Addressed an issue where other characters may appear to “warp” onscreen.
• The time it takes to get to Character Selection on launch has been reduced.

Audio:

• Audio should no longer drop after cutscenes if you have your Music volume set to 0.

Chat:

• The player’s Voice Chat Channel should now be selected according to the following priority, from highest to
  • Alert
  • Group
  • Custom
  • League

Player Appearance:

• Equipping a new weapon should no longer cause your weapon appearance to disappear.
• Swapping weapons with your weapon style locked should no longer cause the weapon appearance to change.

Movement:

• Player character animations should no longer have the chance of getting stuck when weaponizing objects.

Missions:

• Adjusted difficulty of content in the Venom Lab to level 7 to better match the surrounding content.
• No Joke quest is now available at level 18 instead of 19.
• A Crook’s Best Friend mission is now available at level 18 instead of 19.
• Something’s Fishy… quest is now available at level 22 instead of 23.
• Road to Hell quest is now available at level 22 instead of 23.

Avand in vedere metoda de plata a contului, nu cred ca se poate juca pe cont psn de romania, o sa incerc mai pe seara si revin.

Am achizitionat si eu jocul , acuma astept sa se instaleze si ca de obicei ma framanta ceva...
Nu am gasit nicaieri cateva detalii mai profunde despre aceasta subscriptie lunara.... nu inteleg daca 30 de zile insemna 720 de ore gameplay sau pur si simplu ele se consuma odata cu trecerea timpului indiferent daca joc sau nu.

am si eu o intrebare mai stupida.. deci eu am downloadat beta jocul are 17 gb, acum am vazut ca nu mai merge.
oare daca cumpar subscription pt 30 zile.. se poate juca sau trebuie sa cumpar jocul in sine.

Cu siguranta nu asa toti cei care au primit versiunea beta nu ar mai plati bani si pe joc , ar iesi ei in pierdere.
