Thread: PS5 vs Series X - perfomante in jocurile multiplatform

    F1 2021:

    Series S:
    - Quality mode: 1080p/60fps

    PS5 & XSX:
    - Quality mode: 4K/60fps
    - Performance mode: 1440p/120fps

In the 30fps pre-race cinematics, there is evidence of both ray traced shadows and reflections not found on the last-gen machines (and yes, Series S does have these features too). However, once we're into gameplay at 60fps, those features disappear.

    Articolul: F1 2021 delivers a performance masterclass on PS5 and Xbox Series X • Eurogamer.net.

Little Nightmares 2, cu next-gen patch:

    Series S:
    - Beauty mode: 1440p/30fps
    - Performance mode: DRS 1440p/60fps

    PS5 & XSX:
    - Beauty mode: 4K/30fps
    - Performance mode: DRS 4K/60fps

Probleme cu 30fps, in sensul ca sunt ceva frame pacing issues.
Probleme cu ray-traced reflections pe Xbox, in sensul ca nu exista, arata ca last-gen. Asteapta raspuns de la developers.

    Recomanda Performance mode.

    Call of Duty: Vanguard beta:

    Series S:
    - DRS 1920x1080p/60fps
    - 120Hz mode: DRS 1920x1080p/120fps - a few drops to 90fps once physics-affected areas are in view; performance at its worst, drop to 70fps, can be found on the bigger two maps; adaptive screen-tearing & VRR

    PS5 & XSX:
    - sunt la fel
    - DRS 1920x2160p-3840x2160p/60fps
    - 120Hz mode: 1536p/120fps - a few drops to 90fps once physics-affected areas are in view; performance at its worst, drop to 80fps, can be found on the bigger two maps; Xbox has adaptive screen-tearing & VRR

    The Medium:

    PS5:
    - DRS 1620p-1728p - 4K/30fps - dual-view angles consistent at 1188p; bad frame-pacing
    - darker overall image - turned off the ray traced ambient occlusion in favour of a faster screen-space alternative, adding in halo artefacts and darkening the scene
    - reflections run at quarter resolution (compared to PC full resolution)
    - shadow resolution is reduced too with a lower resolution, blockier look

    XSX:
    - DRS 720p-1440p - 4K/30fps - dual-view angles consistent at 972p
    - reflections run at half-resolution (compared to PC full resolution)

    Far Cry 6:

    Series S:
    - 1080p-1224p/60fps - blurrier

    PS5 & XSX:
    - PS5: DRS 1728p-1872p - 4K/60fps
    - XSX: DRS 1872p-2160p - 4K/60fps - crisper image
    - volumetrics, texture filtering, water and shadow quality - PC on high settings
    - geometry quality - between PC's medium and high offerings

Camera stutter meaning that when performance is consistent, controller movement does not look smooth when panning.
Traversal stutter accompanied by intrusive screen-tearing.
    Cutscenes at 30fps.

Articolul: Far Cry 6 tech review: it looks good and runs well - but needs extra polish • Eurogamer.net.

    Alan Wake Remastered:

    Series S:
    - 1080p/60fps

    PS5 & XSX:
    - 1440p - temporal upscaled 4K/60fps - 4xMSAA

Big battles using the flare gun, for example, pull performance down to the 50s, and very, very occasionally under that; tearing at the top of the screen on Xbox consoles; PS5 has a slightly higher degree of v-sync stutter.
    Cutscenes at 30fps.

    Ghostrunner:

    Series S:
    - 1440p/60fps - animations are inconsistent

    XSX:
    - Performance mode: 4K/60fps
    - Ray-Tracing mode: 4K/60fps - in the 50fps range - RT reflections (lower resolution than on PC), no RT ambient occlussion or shadows
    - 120Hz mode: DRS 2304x1296p/120fps - can drop to 90fps in combat, VRR helps

    PS5:
    - Performance mode: 4K/60fps
    - Ray-Tracing mode: 4K/60fps - RT reflections (lower resolution than on PC), no RT ambient occlussion or shadows
    - 120Hz mode: DRS 2304x1296p/120fps - minor drops

    Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy:

    Series S:
    - 1080p/30fps - worse grass density, more geometry pop-in, low quality geometry mashes

    PS5 & XSX:
    - sunt la fel
    - Quality mode: 4K/30fps
    - Performance mode: 1080p/60fps - drops to high 40s-low 50s in combat, Xbox VRR helps

    PS5:
    - Graphics mode: 3840x2160/60fps - higher shadow resolution; dips to 30s in combat
    - Framerate mode: 2880x1620/60fps - additional aliasing and blur; dips to 50s in combat

    XSX:
    - Graphics mode: 3840x2160/60fps - higher shadow resolution; dips to 40s in combat

    Call of Duty: Vanguard:

    Series S:
    - DRS/Reconstructed 1440p/60fps
    - 120Hz mode - DRS/Reconstructed 1080p/120fps - struggles the most; Hamburg mission is a great workout, fluctuating between 60fps to 80fps

    PS5 & XSX:
    - DRS/Reconstructed 4K/60fps
    - 120Hz mode - DRS/Reconstructed 2730x1536/120fps - can drop to 80s; VRR helps

Checkpoint system - stuttering/hang-ups can occur.

Articolul: Call of Duty: Vanguard - a tech marvel marred by bugs and stuttering issues.

    - Framerate: DRS 2688x1512 - 4K/60fps - no motion blur; 5-10fps lower than PS5; 5-10fps better than PS5 in rapid traversal by horseback; 45-60fps

    PS5:
    - Quality: 4K/uncapped - better shadow quality than framerate mode; around 40s
    - Framerate: DRS 2688x1512 - 4K/60fps - 45-60fps

Articolul: Grand Theft Auto 3: Definitive Edition - the good, the bad and the ugly.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City: Definitive Edition, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas - Definitive Edition:

    Series S:
    - Fidelity: 1440p/30fps - improved shadow resolution, reflective puddles in rainy conditions; lacks volumetric clouds; inconsistent frame-pacing
    - Performance: 1080p/60fps - Vice City around 40s-50s; San Andreas - occassional drops

    XSX:
    - Fidelity: 1800p/30fps - improved shadow resolution, reflective puddles in rainy conditions and volumetric clouds; inconsistent frame-pacing

    Battlefield 2042:

    Series S:
    - DRS 1080p - 1296p/60fps - blurrier image and some reductions to effects like foliage density

    PS5 & XSX:
    - DRS 1800p - 4K/60fps

Performance drops to mid 50s in 128-player intense battles with many players present or when flying aircraft.
Occasional stutter on all consoles, though it seems worst on Series X: 50ms pauses occur regularly, although these can last for hundreds of milliseconds at worst.

Articolul: Battlefield 2042 is coming together - but it still needs work.

Update 1.05 cu RT & others:

    Series S:
    - no Ray Tracing mode
    - limit framerate off - go from 30 to 60fps - 40-60fps, VRR helps

    PS5 & XSX:
    - Ray Tracing mode - DRS 2880x1620 - 3840x2160/30fps - RT reflections essentially replace the screen-space alternatives seen in quality mode, meaning that all relevant details are reflected, not just those within the confines of the screen itself; ambient occlusion quality does take a hit, matching the lower quality preset used in the performance mode; no transparency reflection; equivalent to PC's 'entry level' high setting

Articolul: Guardians of the Galaxy's RT upgrade adds extra shine to a brilliant game.

    - Quality mode: 1440p

    XSX:
    - Frame-rate mode: DRS 2688x1512 - 3840x2160 - up to 10fps lower than PS5
    - Quality mode: 4K
    - recomanda Frame-rate mode, consola setata pe 120Hz si VRR enabled

    PS5:
    - Frame-rate mode: DRS 2688x1512 - 3840x2160 - 45-60fps
    - Quality mode: 4K
    - pentru 60fps recomanda varianta de PS4 in backward compatibility mode - 3200x1800 checkerboarded, lower grass draw distance
    - better loading times - 3x faster than Xbox

Frame-rate is unlocked - wavering 30-60fps, can go down to 20fps.
Quality mode - motion blur switches on and off at different points - more often engaged on PS5 than XSX, rarely on Series S.
