Peter Molyneux has said Fable is not necessarily limited to a trilogy. Speaking to Inside Xbox at the Eurogamer Expo, the developer said anyone completing Fable III will see there�s no suggestion the game is the end of the series.
�Forget about the word �trilogy�,� he said. �I hate limiting ourselves to a trilogy. I want you to feel that you�re on a journey in Fable, and I�m not going to tell you what happens at the end of Fable III but I don�t think you�ll feel in any way that you�ve reached the end of a trilogy.�
You could have got yourself in the mood for Fable III this week for zero pounds: Fable II was listed as free on XBLM then promptly re-charged.
Fable III is released on October 26 in the US, followed by a October 29 release in Europe.

Fable III’s dethroned Fallout: New Vegas from the number one spot in the UK charts, with the Lionhead RPG selling 128k in its first week.
The sales numbers coming via industry bigwig UKIE (thanks, Psychotext).
The RPG dethroned Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas from the number one spot in the UK charts, making the Lionhead title the third number one this year in the UK for Microsoft following Halo: Reach and Crackdown 2.
Furthermore, it outsold its prequel Fable II by 6,000 units, making it not just the 13th biggest launch in Xbox 360 history, but also the fourth in the UK for the console this year.
New Vegas lands at three, while FIFA 11 is second.
Just Dance 2 and new entrant Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II finish the top five.
Other new entries WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2011 gets speared at seven, while the console version of The Sims 3 is at nine.

Microsoft has announced that Fable III’s first piece of DLC, the Understone Quest Pack, will release next week.
There’s a new trailer here.
The content will include three new quests and cost 400MSP.
The Understone Quest Pack will take you under the streets of Bowerstone to a subterranean town crafted by eccentric inventor Montague Hummes.
The new locale, described as “full scale” by Microsoft today, is “bustling with new houses and stalls to own, novel creatures to battle and a major mystery to solve.”
As added bonuses, you’re invited to explore the Mercenary Shooting Range and the Wheel of Misfortune, for chances to win in-game prizes.
The three quests are as follows:“The Voice”: In the main quest, explore the mysterious underground land built by Montague Hummes in fear of the Spire in “Fable II” -Also available for purchase on November 23 are the Exclusive Hair Pack (160MSP) with “corn rows, afro and asymmetrical bob styles,” and the 5 Star Dog Potion (80MSP), that “gives your canine companion the full 5-star ability for digging, diving and tracking down hidden chests right from the start.”
“Shooting Range”: After defeating Saker during your quest to become King, the remaining Mercenaries have turned their camp into a tourist attraction. The main attraction being the replayable shooting range mode -
- Discover the origin of the voice that controls the people of Understone
- Features a moral decision that will lead to two drastically different outcomes in Understone
“The Wheel of Misfortune”: After Reaver vacated his home, he set up a venture for budding heroes to replay the thrilling arena-based challenges within his new dwellings -
- Beat the high scores to win three prizes that can be used while playing the mini-game: the Marksman 500 (gifted to players for downloading the pack), Money Shot (prize) and Black Dragon (prize)
- Beat the high scores to win three new weapons that can be used while playing in the mini-game: The Full Monty (gifted to player upon downloading pack), Dirty Harriet (prize) and Dead Ned’s Revolver (prize)
There’s more. A Reaver Industries Hero Outfit (160MSP) and a colorful Dye Pack (80MSP) – that includes black, cream, hot pink and turquoise dyes – will also go on sale at the same time.

Release news “soon,” huh, Lionhead?
It’s been three months.
“Fable 3 PC Version is still in development here at Lionhead so PC GAMERS don’t panic. We’ll announce details when we’re ready to do so,” the developer tweeted, putting fears that the port had been canned to rest once and for all.
Unfortunately, this hardly seems like a light at the end of the tunnel. As for why Lionhead decided to about-face and stretch the definition of “soon” far beyond its breaking point, well, it looks like we have a mystery on our hands, gang.
Our guess? Old man Jenkins was in a fish monster costume the entire time. He wanted to frighten away tourists so the cursed mummy’s fortune of gold and weapons grade plutonium would be his for the taking. Bam. Solved. If you need us, we’ll be in the smoke-filled back of a van performing a series of wholesome, family friendly activities.
Tot ce pot sa va spun despre Fable III, in opinia mea, ca este mai slab decat precedentul. S-a complicat putin sistemul de joc, incepe sa devina frustrant uneori cand pentru o chestiune minora care in Fable II durea doua minute, aici dureaza zece sau chiar mai mult. Cam atat pot spune pe moment, nu vreau sa fac spoilere deci ma abtin.
Eu l-am terminat si mi-a placut...mai ales povestea. Intradevar sunt cateva bug-uri pe ici pe colo dar e un joc bun care merita jucat. Cred ca notele primite pe site-urile de specialitate au fost un pic cam mici.
Sunt deacord cu kane86. jocul este chiar bun. exceptand cateva bug-uri minore, jocul este foarte mare si bine facut. Personal, nu am terminat Fable 2 din cauza prea multor meniuri, care aici au fost eliminate cu ajutorul hartii. mereu ma rataceam in 2 si nu mai stiam pe unde sa merg si ce sa fac, pentru ca aveam prea multe questuri active. aici este mult mai simplificat totul si, deci, mai accesibil.
Inca nu l-am jucat dar din cate am vazut / citit, simplificarea excesiva nu e un lucru bun.
In opinia mea cele mai bune si utile meniuri sunt facute in Dead Space. Iti apar in joc, langa tine!
RPG-ul s-a cam pierdut de la Fable 1 incoace. Atata streamline, tipic Molineux si ajunge ca jocul se joaca cu tine, nu tu cu el.
