Sony Plans PlayStation Expansion - PC World

Sony is hoping to return its PlayStation business to profitability next year with the help of new hardware devices and expansion of its network-delivered services platform, it said Thursday.

Efforts to get the games business back on track will be focused on several areas including a reduction in costs for the PlayStation 3 console. Sony recently reduced the retail price of the console, and lowering manufacturing and distribution costs will be one of the keys to turning the PS3 into a big money-maker.

PSN to get 50+ new movies per week News | PS3 | Eurogamer

Following the launch of the new PlayStation Network Video Delivery Service, Sony has revealed at least 50 films will be added to the library each week.

European product marketing director Mark Hardy told Eurogamer, "There are over 2000 films available to start with. The plan is to update the store on a weekly basis and add a minimum of 50 movies every time we update."

Am o intrebare pt voi foarte usoara dar la care nu-i gasesc raspunsul Nu am cumparat niciodata un film original bluray. Bun, vreau sa iau, intrebarea mea e: filmele bluray au clar sunet pe DTS 100%, DAR AC3 5.1 are? Cu alte cuvinte: eu nu am boxe cu intrare optica si nici decodor DTS si boxe aferente ci doar stereo - mai precis am un Genius 5005 5.1 O sa pot auzi ceva sunet din PS3 in boxele astea? Ca la mkv-uri e simplu ca convertesc da cu bluray original ce ma fac?

hmm... zilele astea am facut un update la DivX pe Mac. tare, nu?

ok to the point: tocmai am dat jos un sample in .mkv si ca si playback options DivX era primul pe lista. merge! .mkv in DivX player (inainte nu mergea decat cu MPlayer). cum PS3-ul e DivX certified device, mai stie cineva ceva despre maretul update?

IBM cancels Cell Processor development PlayStation University

It has been confirmed that IBM will be pulling out of Cell development, with their current PowerXCell 8i to be the company’s last entrance in the technology.
The Cell Processor was originally the brain child of ‘The Father of PlayStation’ Ken Kutaragi. It was later co-developed by Sony, IBM and Toshiba; making its way into the PlayStation 3, TV’s and super computers.

pai merge in divx7...a fost introdus si suport pt mkv-uri ,dar in ps3 nu cred ca merge

da, pe ps3 toate jocurile sunte region free, doar unele filme blu-ray sunt blocate pe regiuni.

Stai putin ca nu m-ai �nţeles. Eu vorbeam de partea audio nu video. Bluray-ul are sunet dts dar eu nu-l pot asculta am zis de ce. Ce nu ştiu e dacă bluray-ul are si coloana sonora stereo.

daca ar introduce sa mearga si mkv-uri va fi extraordinar,eu de altceva chiar nu as mai avea nevoie P

Tocmai mi-am luat un Ps3 slim insa are o mica problema.Din cand in cand pe mijlocul ecranului apar niste flashuri care se repeta de 5-6 ori ca si cum semnalul ar fi slab/instabil.A mai patit cineva asa ceva?E de la tv? de la consola? de la cablul hdmi ieftin?

ps:ma indoiesc ca e vreo problema cu tv-ul pt ca ps3-ul fapt si xboxul au mers perfect pana acu o saptamana.

pai incerci si cu alt cablu , poate nu mai face asa...

cita agitatie cind problema este oricum rezolvata pentru cine vrea ... streaming, mai ales de cind cu PS3 Media Server este chiar periculos de atragatoare solutia.
