    N-are cum sa nu fie gălăgios cand citește discuri. E viteza mare de rotație acolo, nu vad ce ar putea face sa reduca zgomotul pt ca discurile alea tre sa se rotească rapid.

    Am vazut si eu stirea de dimineata.. exact la asta ma gandeam: urmeaza un MMORPG coreean.
    Tot voia Jim Ryan Games as a Service.. dupa ce a dat in cafea viitorul jocurilor pentru $ony. Nu mai pleaca odata.
    Ca nota.. vad destule prastii de tipul "mobile" pe PS Store.. urmeaza probabil un alt sir de prastii MMORPG coreene.

    Când am zis că cei care cumpără media in format digital sunt doar chiriași și că nu merită să renunți la format fizic doar pentru un comfort exagerat, nu credeam că se va adeveri atât de repede. Se pare că nici măcar refund nu primesc oamenii păgubiți.

    New information:
    - Viola is fabbed on TSMC N4P.
    - GFX1115
    - Viola's CPU is maintaining the zen2 architecture found in the existing PS5 for compatibility, but the frequency will once again be dynamic with a peak of 4.4GHz. 64 KB of L1 cache per core, 512 KB of L2 cache per core, and 8 MB of L3 shared (4 MB per CCX).
    - Viola's die is 30WGPs when fully enabled, but it will only have 28WGPs (56 CUs) enabled for the silicon in retail PS5 Pro units.
    - Trinity is the culmination of three key technologies. Fast storage (hardware accelerated compression and decompression, already an existing key PS5 technology), accelerated ray tracing, and upscaling.
    - Architecture is RDNA3, but it's taking ray tracing improvements from RDNA4. BVH traversal will be handled by dedicated RT hardware rather than fully relying on the shaders. It will also include thread reordering to reduce data and execution divergence, something akin to Ada Lovelace SER and Intel Arc's TSU.
    - 3584 shaders, 224 TMUs, and 96 ROPs.
    - 16GB of 18 gbps GDDR6. 256-bit memory bus with 576 GB/s memory bandwidth.
    - The GPU frequency target is 2.0 GHz. This lands the dual-issue TFLOPs in the range of 28.67 TFLOPs peak (224 (TMUs) * 2 (operations, dual issue) * 2 (core clock)). 14.33 TFLOPs if we ignore the dual-issue factor.
    - 50-60% rasterization uplift over Oberon and Oberon Plus, over twice the raw RT performance.
    - XDNA2 NPU will be featured for the purpose of accelerating Sony's bespoke temporal machine learning upscaling technique. This will be one of the core focuses of the PS5 Pro, like we saw with checkboard rendering for the PS4 Pro. Temporally stable upscaled 4K output at higher than 30 FPS is the goal.

    Arata bine pe hartie, apeland la cunostintele average pe care le am, dar mi-ar placea o parere de la cei mai tehnici decat mine.
    Uitandu-va pe cifre, la ce credeti ca ne putem astepta ca si nivel de performanta vs quality? Care va fi noul standard in materie de rezolutie/fps?

    Just my 2 cents...

    Mie mi se pare un salt foarte mare, dar depinde foarte mult si de cum le vor implementa.

    In primul rand acel Al: AMD XDNA2 - deci cip complet separat pentru AI - adica Machine Learning. Cel mai probabil Generative AI - folosit pt upscalling personal (new sony temporal machine learning upscale method), asa cum au avut checkerbord (care mergea doar la 30fps) ca sa nu se mai bazeze, cel putin in jocurile interne, pe FSR sau alte tehnici externe de reconstructie.

    Microsot cu siguranta va baga in Xbox Series Pro, Generative AI prin MS Copilot, care se va lansa odata cu Windows 12 si va avea acest Generative AI integrat peste tot.

    Faza e ca daca ne uitam la comparatie, cel putin pe hartie, la GPU, e un pas mare vs PS5, dar e oarecum asemanator cu XSX. Dar fiind arhitectura noua + dual GPU, e posibil sa fie o diferenta ~dubla - dar depinde cum il vor implementa.

    Tot la GPU se vede ca vor avea 2x RT performance deci cred ca o sa vedem si primele jocuri care incearca path tracing pe console.

    Parerea mea e ca daca acum avem DRS 1440p cu 60fps si inca un upscalling la 4K, cu Pro vom avea rezolutie fixa 1440p cu 60fps si high/ultra details (cum avem acum in 4K DRS cu 30fps), sau DRS la 4K din rezolutie mult mai mare + 60fps.
    Nu as merge mai departe sa spun ca vom avea 4K nativ cu 60fps decat in jocurile care au iesit deja si care nu aduc aceste noutati, gen better RT sau chiar path tracing, Iluminare Globala sau higher details, samd.

    Inca sunt jocuri care se chinuie sa tina 60fps pe PC cu 4090 in 4K nativ si high sau ultra details, iar asa ceva in mod clar nu vom vedea.

    Btw, ma refer strict la jocuri AAA, nu la jocuri indie sau platformers care merg in 4K si pe switch.

    Ramane oricum sa vedem pretul, poate optiunile fizice. Cert e ca iese sigur in 2024, asa cum am zis de la lansarea din 2020

    Eu aș privi zvonurile ca o comparație între Steam Deck și ROG Ally ca performanță, exceptând factorul portabil. Faptul că nu schimbă mare lucru la CPU și numărul de nuclee, exceptând frecvența maximă care va fi mai mare e un semn bun. Cele mai multe schimbări vor fi la nivel de GPU. Asta ar însemna că jocurile vor rula mai aproape de 4K și 60 FPS. Eu unul aș fi interesat de partea cu RayTracing, pentru că acolo scade mereu performanța, cu RT activ. Mă aștept ca GTA IV să fie jocul pe care-l vor folosi pentru demo-uri și pe care-l vor promova. Cred că scăpările au legătură cu Unreal Engine 5 care are nevoie de mai multă putere pe PS și Xbox.


    Sunt extrem de curios ce face Microsoft acum, mai mult din perspectiva competiției. Nu cumpăr Xbox acum.

    Zvonurile vorbesc de up to 29TFLOPS la GPU. Asta ar fi nivelul unui RTX 4070 (non Ti).
    Avand in vedere insa performanta slaba a RDNA3 pe RT, desi se zvoneste un hybrid RDNA3+4, eu ma astept ca pe RT sa fie cel mult la nivelul RTX4070.
    AMD sta prost si pe FSR si pe Frame Gen, din pacate sunt multe de rezolvat. un Upscaler AI de nivelul DLSS ar fi ideal, mai ales daca il face Sony pe PS5 PRO inainte ca AMD sa-l scoata in GPU-urile lor. Apoi, AMD nu are raspuns nici la Ray Reconstruction...

    Totusi, un salt de aproape 3X la GPU power, si usurinta cu care orice engine AAA poate fi scalat in jos, inseamna ca putem avea orice titlu AAA cu RT si chiar Path Tracing, repet, cu ajustarile de rigoare. Daca AI upscaller-ul si Frame Gen fac treaba buna, ne putem astepta la asta ca best case scenario:



    Dar vorbim de o consola, si ne bazam doar pe speranta ca vor exista patch-uri pentru jocurile existente, ceea ce se intampla extrem de greu, si rar.
    Imho, eu as trage tare si as lua un 7800X3D cu RTX4070, si deja aveti un PS5 PRO mult mai puternic, cu DLSS 3.5, RR, FG, acces la toate store-urile digitale, preturi mici sau gratis, plus libraria Xbox. Si puteti sa va scalati voi jocurile dupa preferinta. Cu un controller Dual Sense si Steam Big Picture, sky is the limit.

    N-am prea jucat anul ăsta. Nu știu cum a fost anul trecut. Am 246 de ore jucate pe PS5, 26 de jocuri jucate, am terminat colecția Nathan Drake (toate jocurile existente pentru prima dată, deși le am și pe PS3), am jucat și Uncharted Lost Legacy.

    Vad ca leakul e crunt, cica au fost leakuite si 2 versiuni de Wolverine, una care functioneaza daca ai PS5-ul jailbroken, si una de PC.
