Yamauchi teases imminent GT5 release again cred ca pana la urma o sa avem parte de GT5 in anul acesta. chiar sunt curios ce simulator va fi mai bun GT5 sau FM3
Nonetheless, Polyphony Digital's head Kazunori Yamauchi is surely telling us that 2009 is the year of Gran Turismo, since he has reiterated his comments that the team can release the game whenever they want:
"We can release it [Gran Turismo 5] whenever we want, but we can polish it indefinitely," he comments in an interview with Jeux Video.
PlayStation LifeStyle Gran Turismo 5 Gets Holiday 09 Release Date
Gran Turismo 5 creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated last month that Polyphony Digital could potentially release the game at “any time”. This came as a surprise to many considering the game wasn’t present in playable form at E3, but rather in a gameplay trailer. However, if Amazon is correct then Yamauchi definitely wasn’t kidding.
According to Amazon’s official listing for North America, Sony will release Gran Turismo 5 on December 29th, 2009. The fact that this date falls on a Tuesday only adds more credence since game publishers typically release their titles to retailers on Tuesdays. Oh, and you may remember this little tidbit spilled by SCEE chief executive James Armstrong last December.
Even though this isn’t an official release date from Sony, most games on Amazon get just a “available for pre-order” tag and/or an estimated fiscal year release date if the actual date hasn’t been officially set. For example, God of War III is tied to April 1st, 2010, the beginning of the 2010 Fiscal Year. And Final Fantasy XIII and Versus XIII have similar release estimates, for December 31st, 2010.
Unfortunately, for now, we’ll have to peg this as a rumor until we get official confirmation from Sony. However, we have contacted Sony for official word on GT5’s release date, and will update when we get a response.
Update: French site JVN.com reports that Gran Turismo 5 will hit Europe on December 11, with Game.fr now confirming the release date as well.

That being said, if Amazon is correct then Yamauchi definitely wasn’t kidding.

Microsofts Excited About Gran Tourismo 5″, Too
Heres a little something to make you smile while we wait for Sonys press conference at GamesCom on Tuesday Gran Turismo 5 got some unexpected promotion on one of the most-visited websites in the world. The problem, of course, is that website was MSN.com wholly owned and operated by Microsoft. The MSN editors are apparently unaware of the heated rivalry between their parent companys own Forza Motorsport series and GT, and to make matters worse, they misspelled Turismo in the headline.
Gran Turismo 5 playable at GamesCom
According to Japanese magazine Express, Polyphony Digital's PlayStation 3 game Gran Turismo 5 will be playable at GamesCom in Cologne, Germany.
The article is mostly about Gran Turismo on PSP, but a small box features Gran Turismo 5, titled "PS3 GT5 Playable," and reads:
"GT5 will be playable at Gamescom and next will be at Tokyo Game Show."
Though we'd like to take this as a rumour for now, Sony is expected to announce a release date for the game later today during their conference.
[UPDATE] - The appearance of a playable GT5 has been confirmed by a YouTube walkthrough of GamesCom's show floor by Brian Crecente of Kotaku - you'll spot a load of GT5 demo pods at 1.30 minutes:
Tot ne duc cu vorba astia, sa ne dea odata release date-ul, si era mare pacat ca nu au pus si visual customization ca in FM3, ca devenea epic.
