Sony’s announced sales of 1 million units for PS3 in Australia.
The console went on sale in the country in March 2007.
PS3 dominated 26.5 percent of all hardware console sales in the country last year, as reported by GameSpot AU.
Meanwhile, PS2 has sold 2.6 million units LtD in Australia while PSP has sold 675k.
In terms of software, PS3 titles made up for 26.7 percent of the software market down under, with a game-to-console attachment ratio of at least ten.
Microsoft, unlike Sony, decided not to share specific hardware numbers for 360, but hardware sales were up by 20 percent in 2010 over 2009.

Salut forumistilor,
in urma cu 1 zi am constatat ca placa video de la laptopul meu fujitsu luat acum 2 ani cu 3000 ron, s-a dus, adica merge nu stiu pentru cat timp numai in standard vga.
As vrea sa imi achizitionez o consola sony ps3 160 gb, pret 1280 ron si s-o pun la lcd-ul meu sony .
Diferenta dintre sony ps3 de 320 o face doar capacitatea de stocare si banul sau mai are si altceva in plus?
Pe consola pot naviga pe net, ca pe pc?
Pot vedea filmele cu extensia avi si cu subtitrare pe care le am in pc pe consola printr-un simplu tranfer prin usb?
Sunt un gamer inrait de fifa pe pc pana acum, am facut in 4 ani f multi bani din fifa, participand la foarte multe competitii si activand f mult timp pe esl (european sports league), exista turnamente la fel de frecvente, si comunitati mari la jocurile interactive pe ps3?
Consola are ventilatie buna, sau trebuie sa mai adaug eu cate ceva?

@bogdan-theodor bun venit , hai sa le luam in ordine:

1. diferenta consta doar in capacitatea de stocare, in rest consolele sunt indentice (cele slim)
2. da poti sa navighezi pe net, are un browser integrat, dar din pacate nu e chiar asa de bun. tot PC e de baza din acest punct de vedere
3. da poti sa le vezi si nu ai nevoie de un USB, ci de un simplu router si de programul acesta de streaming PS3 Media Server
4. da exista, doar ca nu mai stiu exact cum se numesc. iti recomanda sa dai un mic search pe google
5. nu ai nevoie de nimic suplimentar, trebuie doar sa ai grija sa nu acoperi ventilatoarele cu ceva si sa fie aerisita. (mai multe detalii vei gasi in carticica cu care vine consola)

With the recent PS3 hacks that have been in the news lately, we haven't heard all too much about Sony successfully patching up the platform's security issues. However, just recently, the company has blocked a certain method that has been used to get into the PS3. It now no longer works.

Hackers are reporting that the DNS and proxy PS3 hacking methods are not usable anymore, thanks to a new update from Sony. While other methods are still able to be used to get into the console, it's good to know that the security problems have at least partially been fixed.

It also looks like Sony is remotely freezing PS3's that are already online using the bypass and when I unplugged the hard ps3 and booted it back up it wanted me to rebuild by database ^_^

Happened to both of my PS3's, leave me some feedback if this happed to any of you guys. Rebooted PS3's and had 2 extra applications on my XMB that were corrupt WTF?

Va rog, un minut de liniste si doliu pentru toti cei care au incercat sa-si faca backup la jocuri pe hard, dupa care doar voiau sa booteze Linuxul putin

Iei freeze daca intri pe anumite siteuri care mananca ram,dar noi ca suntem spartani vrem Linux pe consola,vrem sa folosim cele 7 procesoare ca sa punem consola la treaba sa calculeze cea mai eficienta metoda de spanzurat in debara.Mai si riscam 15 milioane cat costa consola doar doar ca sa incercam linuxu,chiar daca noi postam de pe PC-uri care ar putea rula linuxu de 14 mii de ori mai bine.

It's Official: PS3 Has Best Software Library of 2010

All console warriors, lay down your weapons and surrender at once: It's been scientifically (?) proven by Famitsu magazine that the PlayStation 3 had the highest-quality software library for the year 2010. (Assuming you trust Famitsu's reviews, that is.) The Japanese publication made this conclusion by crunching the scores on the 516 games it reviewed last year and seeing how many titles scored at least a "Silver" award by getting 30 out of 40 possible points. The resulting numbers speak for themselves, at least if you're a Sony fan -- a whopping 77 out of 103 PS3 games in 2010 netted a Famitsu award, nearly three-quarters of the entire release lineup. Two-thirds of Xbox 360 releases in Japan (65 out of 97) got awards, and 27 out of 43 Wii games scored at least 30/40, a ratio of 62.8%.
As you'd figure, the percentages weren't quite so hot for the portable systems. 58 out of 117 Nintendo DS games (just under half) got rewarded by Famitsu this year, and the numbers were even worse for the PSP, with only 56 out of 130 titles (43.1%) making the cut. The PlayStation 2 fared worst of all, with only 6 out of 26 releases (20.1%) making the grade.
In case you're interested, the 289 games that earned Famitsu awards in 2010 would cost you a grand total of 1,824,684 yen (about $22,136) if you purchased them all at list price. If you stacked all the boxes on top of each other, you'd have an unstable tower of plastic reaching over 160 feet into the air. Also, if you did either of these things, chances are good you would have trouble retaining a girlfriend.

Am �nțeles că este pe cale să apară un player pentru PS3 (Jailbreak) care redă fișierele .mkv de pe NTFS. Mă interesează să știu dacă a apărut și de unde �l pot downloada. Baftă

@emptysilance si @serbanc nu mai puneti intrebari din astea aici ca e warez ce vreti voi si nu e ok.
Cat priveste router cu hdd atasat personal n-am incercat chiar daca am aparatele necesare. in teorie trebuie sa aveti hdd formatat fat32 ca sa il vada PS3-ul si legat in retea cu routerul, consola prin cablu, hdd prin usb. Exista in spate la router (daca e un router mai rasarit) o mufa usb si ar trebui sa fie accesibil hdd. Nu trebuie instalat nici un program pe hdd ca nu ai de unde sa-l executi. Oricum alte formate decat avi, mp4, mpeg, ts, m2ts, avs, wmv nu merg pe ps3, iar subtitrarile trebuiesc encodate in film pt a putea fi vizualizate.
